In situ synergistic strategy of sacrificial intermedium for scalable-manufactured and controllable layered double hydroxide film

Layered double hydroxides (LDHs), a class of two-dimensional (2D) brucite-like layers, have been effectively applied in diverse fields. However, the current synthesis methods restrict situ scaling-up and tunable production LDH-based materials. Inspired by growing characteristic “Bryophyllum pinnatum”, sacrificial co-sputtered Zn?Al transition layer was introduced for first time to grow scalable-manufactured thickness-controllable LDH film on arbitrary substrate materials with flexible shapes through “partial dissolution” “solution infiltration” processes. Diverse films could be tailored creative regulation component, structure surface state layer. Results showed that as-prepared had strong mechanical robustness under harsh abrasion conditions due its large thickness multi-level microstructure. Moreover, series galvanic couple model experiments based Zn/Al single-metal layers were designed solve real-time monitoring issue complex hydrothermal solution. This work not only develops new strategy design multifaceted features, but also reveals sophisticated formation mechanisms. Hence, findings this study may broaden practical application toward advanced smart devices.
